Wills and LandCruisers

When I'm asked to explain Wills I often use the following analogy.

Imagine you're about to drive your family across Australia and you are given a choice. Drive a basic 1903 Model A Ford or a new 2024 Toyota LandCruiser.

This is the same kind of choice you have with your Will.

Basic 3-6 page Wills have not changed much since the 1903 Model A Ford was the height of sophistication.

Modern estate planning Wills have continuously evolved into the Toyota LandCruiser of long-term risk management

Like the LandCruiser, modern estate planning Wills include many 'just in case' options that may or may not be needed depending on how the 'road trip' goes for each beneficiary.

From an annoying tax issue, a business failure, or a divorce, to helping young or vulnerable beneficiaries, a modern estate planning Will includes sensible legal and financial  'just in case' options that executors, trustees, and beneficiaries can use to protect and maximise inheritances across generations.

Basic 3-6 page Wills are like that old Model A Ford. If anything changes or goes wrong, you're stuffed. There are no optional extras to help dig loved ones out of the sand.

So, the choice is obvious. Get the LandCruiser of Wills from an experienced estate planning solicitor.

Or skip the meetings and legal fees and arrange your modern estate planning documentation online with Will Wizard.

I hope this simple analogy helped. We also have a quick online tutorial which covers the basics.
